GOLD LOCATIONS IN MARYLAND;
After the Civil War, Maryland was heavily prospected for gold. Gold and quartz were found though much of the Piedmont Plateau. Although gold mining never was profitable, you can still pan gold in the Piedmont Stream gravels. All the land is privately owned so you must ask permission .
